Abstract |
China's rapid urbanization has led to such uncoordinated development of municipal infrastructure, open spaces and human settled environment since 1980. The increasing environmental degradation has become one of the key constraints to sustainable urban development. As a result, the ecosystem and environment of metropolitan areas are being deteriorated. This Paper will focus on some new progresses of the innovation urban planning system in transition, such as China's urbanization and urban planning in transition, innovations of China's urban planning system including Industrial Analysis and Industrial Layout based on cycle economic system, new approach of the urban spatial analysis based on Landscape Ecology, Urban and Regional Planning Modeling System(URMS), urban social spatial structure analysis and some case studies. In general, there are several differences between Chinese and other urban planning system for national resources allocation (including land, capital, labor, technology, information, and basic facility construction, etc.) and duties and responsibilities sharing in China's urban government. |
